GlamCamp is a subsidised Music and Arts Summer Camp that runs in the Summer holidays. In the past, GlamCamp has worked towards joint concerts with the Alumni of the Glamorgan and Mid Glamorgan Youth Orchestra and Choir from the past 60 years!
Every year, The Glam Organisation puts on a Summer Performing Arts Camp for children of all ages and abilities. Last years’ GlamCamp2020 was no exception. 90 children of all abilities and ages and from across the UK took part in our virtual camp and explored music, dance, drama, film making, arts and crafts, friendship and their lockdown stories and struggles. Through the power of technology we giggled and dressed up, fell over and sang, laughed and had virtual hugs. Zoom was our teaching platform. Mental well-being was our theme and Music was what brought us all together.
This year we are mixing things up and are hoping to run an ‘in person’ GlamCamp with 2 days online to launch us. We have planned fantabulous music, filming and performing arts experiences. Whether you’ll be playing in the orchestra or band, getting creative in arts and crafts, being boomchikkawow in drama, singing like an angel, dancing like a tiktok pro or joining the tremendously clever Tech Crew! This years’ camp is 2 weeks long and starts online for Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th July as some schools finish on the Tuesday. The online sessions are essential as they will prepare you for the fun of the rest of the fortnight! The remainder of the camp will be Wednesday 21st – Friday 23rd July and Monday 26th – Friday 30th July, 9am to 4pm.
Due to keeping everyone safe and following covid guidelines, we have made some changes to accommodate social distancing and so have had to limit numbers this year so please book your space now!
The cost this year is £40 and includes your t-shirt. Once you have booked you will be emailed with payment details and confirmation of your place. There will be no performance this year but we will be producing a showreel! Let the fun begin!
We always remember it’s OK not to be OK
